Pinterest and Planning your Invitations

Do you love Pinterest?

I do! It can be a wonderful tool for gathering ideas and inspiration for your wedding planning. And especially while working on your invitation design.

It is the perfect place to create a mood board to help communicate your wedding vision. I love using Pinterest with clients so we can collaborate on a board specifically for their invitation design. A picture really is worth a thousand words, especially when you are looking for something that gives you that certain feeling. That feeling where you just know it’s right, but it’s so hard to describe. Use your Pinterest board as a tool to do a lot of the talking for you.

Finding vendors to hire

Pinterest can be a great place to find local wedding vendors to hire for your big day. You can get a feel for their work and what inspires them and see if they might be a good match for your style. If you find Pinterest overwhelming at times, it’s ok to only pin a few things that REALLY inspire you, even a few good images will help the team you hire to start off on the right track. If you are working with a wedding planner, you can have them create inspiration boards for you that will help pare down the clutter of Pinterest to what really matters.

What should I pin?

Your invitation suite will be one of the first things that you may be using Pinterest for, but don’t feel you should only pin paper goods to your Invitations board, anything can help inspire the look and feel you’re trying to achieve. If you find a calligraphy style you love, definitely pin it! But also pin florals you love, pin tablescapes that you like, pin a cool bar setup that you want to have at the reception. All of those things can tell me a lot about your style and what you like. When it comes time for me to present my ideas for your invitation suite, you can expect to see things that are tailored to your wedding style.
