Well, of course you’re sending save the dates!
What did you take those gorgeous engagement photos for, if not to send to out to announce the happiest day of your lives?
With that question settled, where do we begin?
That may sound like a lot of pressure, but it doesn’t need to be. Honestly, that cute photo of the two of you looking so in love is going to be doing most of the work here. We can drop hints about the invitation design with just a touch of custom calligraphy or the font that your invitations will use, and introduce some of your color palette with the envelope color.
If you don’t want to use a photo, that is totally fine. Your save the date will still be a cohesive part of your invitation suite and serve the same purpose as a photo save the date. This minimalist save the date is a good example of this. The moody lavender grey color palette is the star of the show here.
Your save the dates are the appetizer that leads into the main course: your invitation. They should look like they belong together, but they shouldn’t give too much away. I believe in keeping Save the Dates simple, and letting that amazing pic of you two be the star of the design. Your guests should get heart eyes when they open your save the date.
And you want them picking their jaw up off the floor when they see your invitation.
